According to Jin10, a Swiss Bankers Association survey showed that Swiss banking professionals expect the Swiss National Bank to keep its benchmark rate unchanged at 0% for the rest of this year and through 2027. All surveyed bankers expect the SNB to keep rates at 0% for the rest of 2026, while 60% said the policy will last through next year. About 40% of respondents expect the SNB to start raising rates next year, with most forecasting a move to 0.25% and one respondent expecting a rise to 0.5%. The SNB will announce its next monetary policy assessment on September 24, and market pricing shows a 97% probability of no change. Markets expect the first rate hike in June, when rates are seen rising 25 basis points to 0.25%.
