U.S. President Donald Trump said he was authorizing the drafting of legal documents that would allow farmers and ranchers to process their own agricultural products. According to Sina Finance, Tyson Foods and meat processor JBS fell after the remarks, with both stocks down 1%.
Trump also criticized large agricultural groups in a Truth Social post, calling them a "bad monopoly" he wants to break. He wrote that there are basically only four giants, competition is extremely limited, and they make life difficult for farmers and ranchers.
