On the 26th, Iranian authorities, citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said the IRGC Navy is maintaining control over about 240,000 square kilometers of waters in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz through continuous patrols and monitoring. According to Odaily, the IRGC said any vessel that does not accept and follow Iran's rules cannot pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC also said U.S. forces once tried to alter a ship's course but retreated after warning shots from Iran. It added that in the past 24 hours, six vessels were forced to anchor and comply with Iranian instructions after receiving IRGC warnings.
