According to CoinDesk, Obligate, a blockchain-based regulated debt securities startup, completed a $4 million seed round extension financing, with Blockchange Ventures and Circle Ventures participating. Obligate’s total seed round financing has now exceeded $8.5 million, and next month Will be live on the Polygon network. Foresight News noted that Obligate allows companies to issue on-chain bonds and commercial paper, or debt securities with defined loan terms, to obtain funds from investors in a regulated DeFi environment. The issuer must pass KYC to create a bond plan suitable for its liquidity needs, and the liquidity will be denominated in stable coins such as USDC. Investors will be able to access Obligate through encrypted wallets and hold corresponding eNotes (ERC20 tokens). The token is entitled to receive payment when due or to obtain collateral in case of default.
