AI Startup Skyfall AI Plans $1 Million Acquisition to Test an AI CEO

Skyfall AI said it will spend up to $1 million to acquire a small B2B SaaS or e-commerce company and attempt to let an AI system take over operations to test whether an AI CEO can manage a real business. According to Odaily, the startup was founded by former Microsoft AI team members and is led by co-founder Sam Pasupalak and CTO Kaheer Suleman. The company said it wants to run a real business to test whether AI can handle decisions across pricing, marketing, customer support, finance, and operations, rather than only replacing tasks in individual jobs. Skyfall AI said it plans to record both successes and failures publicly during the experiment. Skyfall founder said current large language models perform well in existing knowledge and fixed environments, but still lack the ability to keep learning when facing changes in competition, customer behavior, and market conditions. The company is exploring a new AI architecture called Enterprise World Models, which it said is designed to help AI understand a company’s operating state and predict how decisions affect future development. Skyfall AI was founded by members of the Maluuba team. Maluuba was acquired by Microsoft in 2017 for about $160 million, and its technology later became part of Microsoft's AI research efforts in Canada.
