STOCKS | Chow Sang Sang Posts 16% Rise In Quarterly Retail Sales Value

Chow Sang Sang Holdings (0116) said its overall retail sales value rose 16% year on year in the three months ended June 30, the second quarter, according to Ming Pao. In mainland China, same-store sales increased 17% year on year, while the company said the market continued to be affected by cautious consumer sentiment and macroeconomic uncertainty. Sales in Hong Kong and Macau rose 30% year on year, but slowed from 46% growth in the previous quarter. As for its store network, Chow Sang Sang had 677 jewelry retail outlets in mainland China, a net decrease of 50, and 61 stores in Hong Kong and Macau.
