U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins said on X that the agency's proposal to allow electronic delivery is another step toward a modern regulatory framework and a key pillar of its agenda. According to Foresight News, Atkins said paper delivery should become history, not the standard, in the era of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.
The SEC said it proposed Regulation E-Delivery the same day, a new rule designed to expand the ability of issuers, broker-dealers, investment advisers, and other firms to use electronic delivery to meet federal securities law disclosure requirements.
