An Iranian parliamentary national security committee spokesperson said Iran has options it has not used, including blocking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
According to Jin10, Iranian media outlet Fars News reported comments from Rezaei, a spokesperson for Iran’s parliament national security committee.
Rezaei said that in any future confrontation, Iran’s enemies would face what he described as a comprehensive and sudden strike. He said Iran has many options that were not used in what he called the “40-day war,” including withdrawing from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, revising Iran’s “nuclear strategic doctrine,” and blocking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in addition to actions beyond the Strait of Hormuz.
He added that a proposal to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons was prepared for parliamentary review. He also said that if Iran faced an existential threat, revising the “nuclear strategic doctrine” could be put on the agenda.
