U.S. and euro zone government bond yields accelerated higher after U.S. President Donald Trump said the ceasefire with Iran had ended. According to Jin10, yields in the United States and the euro zone had previously reached four-week highs amid escalating U.S.-Iran military tensions.
After Trump’s ceasefire remarks, yields were pushed higher as oil prices continued to climb. Tradeweb data showed the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield rose 4.8 basis points to 5.577%, while the 10-year German Bund yield increased 8 basis points to 3.064%.
