On-chain security researcher Specter posted preliminary findings on X about an alleged BONK DAO governance attack, citing suspicious fund flows between wallets.
According to Odaily, Specter said that after tracing on-chain fund movements, he found indications of transactions between addresses linked to the founder of Realms and Crypto Notte and a wallet believed to belong to the suspected attacker.
Specter stated that the attacker published a malicious governance proposal on June 30, with a passage threshold set at voting power equal to 1% of BONK’s circulating supply.
He added that from July 4 to July 5, the attacker acquired sufficient voting weight by buying tokens through exchanges and borrowing via Marginfi, totaling about $4 million, which he said enabled the proposal to be implemented and the governance attack to be carried out.
