According to Lianhe Zaobao citing Reuters, authorities in Russia’s second-largest city St. Petersburg and the surrounding Leningrad region said a port and oil infrastructure were hit in a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack overnight on Friday, July 3. St. Petersburg Mayor Alexander Beglov said targets included an oil terminal and that there were no casualties, adding that response work had been completed.
Leningrad Governor Alexander Drozdenko said drones struck the port of Vysotsk on the Gulf of Finland, about 170 km northwest of St. Petersburg, which handles oil, grain, coal and liquefied natural gas, and that 72 drones were downed over the region. South of St. Petersburg, Pskov Governor Mikhail Vedernikov said more than 30 drones were shot down overnight, with minor damage and casualties, including losses at a factory in the town of Velikiye Luki.
