LG Electronics’ second-quarter results may exceed expectations, according to an analyst at Hana Securities, who cited factors including U.S. tariff rebates.
According to Jin10, analyst Minkyung Kim said LG Electronics’ consolidated operating profit for April to June was expected to more than double from a year earlier to 1.44 trillion won, above the consensus estimate of 1.04 trillion won.
Kim said that despite rising raw material and logistics costs, LG Electronics was expected to maintain profitability through price increases and cost-efficiency measures.
Kim added that strong performance at LG Innotek, described as an Apple supplier under LG Electronics, may also have supported the parent company’s profit.
