Smarter Web Company CEO Andrew Webley said the second quarter was the company’s most significant since becoming a publicly listed firm and outlined a strategic shift beyond operating solely as a Bitcoin treasury company. According to Foresight News, Webley said the company is moving toward becoming an “Amplified Bitcoin” company, focused on increasing Bitcoin per share over the long term through the responsible use of its balance sheet and capital markets tools, rather than only holding Bitcoin.
Webley said the company has recently taken several steps, including continuing to increase its Bitcoin holdings, introducing moderate leverage, simplifying its capital structure, appointing a new CFO, and strengthening treasury analysis and disclosures.
He added that the company is also developing its operating business alongside these treasury initiatives.
Webley said the “amplified” approach could lead to greater volatility, but that the company’s long-term objectives remain unchanged.
