A U.S. official said U.S. envoy Witkoff is traveling to Switzerland, and said U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is already in Switzerland.
According to Odaily, a person familiar with the matter said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi plans to travel to Switzerland by Saturday, though the plan could still change.
The source said Araghchi told several foreign ministers that a Lebanon ceasefire is critical for Iran and has “decisive” significance for U.S.-Iran talks. Iran has emphasized it wants to see the ceasefire implemented before traveling to Switzerland.
Because of this, the source said talks may not begin until Monday at the earliest, though the schedule could still change.
