Several gaming associations, tribes and labor unions urged the Senate to add language to the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act that would bar prediction markets from offering sports and casino-style contracts. In a June 16 letter, according to BeInCrypto, signatories including the American Gaming Association (AGA), the Indian Gaming Association (IGA) and the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce said sports-event contracts enable nationwide sports betting under a federal financial label, sidestepping state and tribal law and weakening consumer protections. The groups also questioned the CFTC’s role and cited a March bill by Sens. Adam Schiff and John Curtis to ban such contracts.
