Hyperliquid Expands HIP-4 to Include Macro Outcome Bets

Hyperliquid has launched its HIP-4 product, allowing traders to bet on offchain events such as U.S. inflation data and Federal Reserve decisions, according to CoinDesk. This expansion positions Hyperliquid as a competitor to platforms like Polymarket, but with a unique approach to resolving bets through its own validator set rather than relying on external oracles like UMA. The fully collateralized Yes/No contracts settle at either 1 USDC or zero, enabling traders to combine crypto derivatives with macro event-driven bets without shifting collateral across platforms.
