Playground Global, a venture capital firm based in Palo Alto, has successfully raised $475 million for a new fund aimed at investing in startups within the fields of artificial intelligence, automation, advanced computing, and deep technology. According to ChainCatcher, the firm, co-founded by Android co-creator Andy Rubin, has a longstanding interest in AI infrastructure, robotics, and hardware innovation. This latest fund highlights the ongoing investment in cutting-edge technology sectors, driven by the surge in generative AI and automation. Previously, in 2022, Playground Global raised $410 million for its third fund. The firm's investment portfolio includes companies such as Agility Robotics, PsiQuantum, Skydio, Ultima Genomics, Virta Health, and Unconventional AI.
