Iranian Foreign Minister Discusses Stalled U.S. Negotiations at BRICS Meeting

The BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting concluded today, May 15, in India. According to Odaily, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi stated at a press conference that Iran is attempting to maintain a ceasefire to allow diplomacy a chance, but is also prepared to return to the battlefield if necessary. Araghchi noted that negotiations between Iran and the United States aimed at ending the conflict remain stalled. He mentioned that Pakistan's mediation efforts have not failed but are facing 'difficulties.' Iran has no trust in the United States and is only interested in negotiations if the U.S. demonstrates a serious attitude. Araghchi expressed doubts about the U.S.'s true intentions due to 'contradictory messages' from the American side.
