US House Speaker: The US is not at war with Iran

U.S. House Speaker Boris Johnson said on Thursday that Congress did not need to comment on the Trump administration's military actions in Iran because the United States is currently "not at war." Johnson stated, "I don't think we have any active, kinetic military bombing, firing, or similar actions. Right now, we are trying to achieve peace. I don't want to interfere with the administration in these very sensitive negotiations, so we have to wait and see." His remarks came as the ongoing military conflict with Iran approached the 60-day deadline set by the War Powers Resolution. When asked about this deadline, Johnson stated unequivocally, "We are not at war." He continued, "We are conducting patrols in the Strait of Hormuz and trying to achieve peace. The president and the administration are acting as aggressively as possible. Congress can't do anything to further advance this process, so we will wait and see. That's my position." (Jin Shi)
