South Korea pursued 33.9 billion won in cross-border tax collection over nine months and will begin accepting reports on overseas crypto assets starting next year.

Since the South Korean National Tax Service launched its new system in July 2025, it has recovered 33.9 billion won in back taxes through cross-border tax cooperation in the past nine months, accounting for the majority of the total amount recovered cross-border since 2015. The report states that South Korea will begin receiving virtual asset transaction data from 56 countries next year under a new crypto asset reporting framework, and plans to exchange information on overseas real estate holdings and transactions starting in 2030.
