Litecoin disclosed a zero-day vulnerability that triggered a DoS attack and abnormal MWEB transactions; the vulnerability was fixed after a block reorganization.

Litecoin disclosed in an article on the X platform that a recent zero-day vulnerability led to a DoS attack, affecting the operation of major mining pools. Mining nodes that failed to update in time allowed an invalid MWEB (MimbleWimble Extension Block) transaction to be executed, enabling the related tokens to be withdrawn to a third-party DEX. The Litecoin network rolled back these invalid transactions through a 13-block reorg, confirming that they would not be included in the main chain. During this period, all valid transactions were unaffected. The vulnerability has now been fully patched, and the network has returned to normal operation.
