Meta Pool, a liquid staking protocol, has issued a security warning regarding a counterfeit stNEAR contract attempting to impersonate its official staking pool and token. According to Foresight News, this fraudulent contract is not associated with Meta Pool or any official NEAR liquid staking providers.
Meta Pool stated that no significant financial losses have been detected so far. However, the team has observed suspicious activities, such as test interactions through Intents by related parties. Users are advised to interact only with officially verified contracts and to verify contract addresses before staking or exchanging, rather than relying solely on token names or symbols for authenticity. The team will continue to monitor the situation closely.
