On April 22, AI programming startup Cursor, developed by Anysphere, completed a $400,000 pre-seed funding round in April 2022, according to BlockBeats. The investment was jointly made by Alameda Research and Heroic Ventures, with Alameda investing $200,000 for approximately 5% equity. FTX bankruptcy documents reveal that in April 2023, FTX's bankruptcy management sold the shares held by Alameda Research's entity in Anysphere for $200,000.
Today, SpaceX announced a collaboration with Cursor to jointly develop next-generation coding and knowledge work AI. The agreement includes an option for SpaceX to acquire Cursor for $60 billion later this year. If SpaceX chooses not to exercise this option, it will pay $10 billion as a collaboration fee. Currently, Cursor's valuation stands at $60 billion, and based on this valuation, the shares previously sold by FTX would be worth approximately $3 billion.
