Speaking on The Wolf of All Streets Podcast, Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao said he wrote most of his memoir Freedom of Money while serving a federal prison sentence, with access limited to a shared computer in 15-minute intervals. Zhao said he wrote the book primarily to stay occupied and to be transparent about his guilty plea and his own account of events. He described the prison schedule as highly regimented, with fixed meal times, regular lockdowns, and limited free time, during which he focused on writing and exercise. Zhao said he lost approximately 10 kilograms during his sentence and has maintained his workout routine since release. He described the food as high in carbohydrates and sugar with little protein or vegetables, though manageable for someone not focused on diet.
