As the demand for artificial intelligence computing power surges and the deployment of global low-orbit satellite constellations accelerates, space is emerging as a new investment landscape for countries worldwide. According to Odaily, Guo Zebang, Director of the Information Technology Industry Bureau of Beijing Economic Development Zone, stated that the Beijing Space Computing Power Innovation Center is being established to gather resources from industry, academia, and research sectors. The initiative aims to validate the development of entire satellites and overcome technical challenges in radiation-resistant chips and satellite heat dissipation. Sending computing power to space is a long-term mission with ambitious goals, and it is anticipated that the collaborative efforts of industry, academia, and research will expedite the construction of a coordinated space-ground computing network.
