Robinhood approves $1.5 billion stock buyback program

Robinhood announced a new stock repurchase program, authorizing the company to buy back up to $1.5 billion worth of its own shares. After more than doubling in value last year, Robinhood's stock has fallen 39% since the beginning of 2026. Robinhood CFO Shiv Verma stated that the authorization reflects the management team and board's confidence in the company's continued commitment to providing innovative products to customers, creating value for shareholders, and gradually returning capital to investors. Verma, who became CFO in February of this year, said the repurchase program has no expiration date and is expected to run for approximately three years.
