Arm, known for licensing technology to semiconductor manufacturers, is set to sell its own chips for the first time, aiming to capitalize on the substantial spending in the AI device sector. According to Jin10, Arm announced at an event in San Francisco on Tuesday that Meta will be the primary customer for its new AGI CPU chip. The product is expected to feature up to 136 cores, a measure of processing power, and will consume 300 watts of power. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will handle the production of these chips. Following the announcement, Arm's U.S. stock surged to an intraday high.
