Iranian media outlet Fars News Agency reported on March 23 that Iran has identified 11 key energy and desalination facilities in the Middle East as potential targets of interest. According to Jin10, these facilities include a nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The report highlights that a significant portion of the region's energy and freshwater supply is derived from these power and desalination stations. Analysts suggest that these facilities could be potential targets for Iran.
The identified targets include two power and desalination stations in Kuwait, the Barakah nuclear power plant and the Taweelah desalination plant in the UAE, and two power and desalination stations in Saudi Arabia, namely the Ras Al Khair and Shuaibah facilities. Additionally, Jordan's Aqaba power station and Samra power plant, Bahrain's Dur power and desalination station, and Qatar's Umm Al Houl and Ras Laffan/Ras Girtas power stations are also listed.
