World, a Web3 identity solution powered by Sam Altman, today announced AgentKit, a developer toolkit for the x402 protocol. This tool allows World-verified users to authorize their World ID to an AI agent, enabling the AI agent to prove it is "backed by a real human while protecting privacy" on websites and platforms. World ID is a cryptographic mechanism that proves a user's unique identity. Through AgentKit, a user's autonomous AI agent can demonstrate its authenticity to platforms when making payments, accessing services, and performing other actions. The x402 protocol, developed by Coinbase for AI agent payments and transactions, has processed over 100 million payments at the time of its V2 release. (The Block)
