Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte has requested the dismissal of two impeachment complaints lodged against her. Bloomberg posted on X that Duterte's legal team argues the complaints lack sufficient evidence and are politically motivated. The complaints, filed by opposition lawmakers, accuse Duterte of misconduct and abuse of power. Duterte, who is also the daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, has denied the allegations, asserting that they are baseless and intended to undermine her political standing. The impeachment process in the Philippines requires a one-third vote in the House of Representatives to proceed, a threshold that Duterte's supporters believe will not be met. The Vice President remains focused on her duties and has called for unity and cooperation among political leaders.
