Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced the introduction of a fuel surcharge on all cargo transported from Northern Europe, including the UK, Scandinavia, and the Baltic regions, to the Red Sea and East Africa. According to Jin10, this decision comes as part of MSC's efforts to address rising fuel costs and maintain operational efficiency. The surcharge, known as the Energy Fuel Surcharge (EFS), will be applied to shipments along these routes. MSC's move reflects broader industry trends as shipping companies adjust pricing strategies in response to fluctuating fuel prices. The implementation of the EFS aims to ensure the sustainability of services amid ongoing economic challenges.
