Clearstream, DTCC, and Euroclear, in conjunction with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), released a new industry report proposing an interoperability framework for digital asset securities markets. This framework aims to promote interconnectivity between distributed ledger technology (DLT) markets and ensure the smooth flow of digital securities across different platforms and infrastructures. The framework identifies five core elements required for digital asset securities to operate across networks: asset and liability representation standards, ownership identification mechanisms, asset lifecycle and transfer protocols, ledger structure harmonization, and legal and regulatory compliance. The authors argue that unifying these key elements will help maintain consistent ownership records, operational processes, and compliance standards across different distributed ledger infrastructures.
