A recent report by cybersecurity firm Moonlock Lab highlights a new scam tactic known as 'ClickFix,' where hackers impersonate venture capital firms to conduct cryptocurrency fraud. According to Odaily, scammers are posing as firms like SolidBit and reaching out to potential victims via LinkedIn, directing them to click on fake meeting links that execute malicious code.
Additionally, the Chrome extension 'QuickLens' has been hijacked to steal cryptocurrency wallet data and seed phrases. The 'ClickFix' technique is particularly dangerous as it tricks users into executing malicious commands themselves, bypassing standard security measures. Security experts warn that since 2024, these attacks have targeted multiple industries, affecting thousands of devices worldwide daily.
