A recent incident involving the Cuban Coast Guard has led to further developments. According to Ming Pao, on Wednesday, the Cuban Coast Guard opened fire on an American speedboat that had entered Cuban waters. Reports from U.S. media outlet Axios on Thursday, citing a Washington official, indicate that at least two individuals on the boat were U.S. citizens. One person was killed, and another was injured and is currently receiving medical treatment in Cuba.
The American media reports suggest that some individuals on the boat were members of an anti-Cuban communist regime exile organization, determined to 'liberate Cuba,' which led them to undertake this unauthorized maritime venture. The Cuban government has stated that two individuals on the boat are on the country's wanted list.
