Aptos Labs, in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Hang Seng Bank, released a white paper titled "Digital Currency: A Multiplier Opportunity for Hong Kong's Fund Industry." The white paper systematically summarizes the pilot achievements of Aptos and other parties in the second phase of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority's "Digital Hong Kong Dollar+" initiative. It points out that digital currencies and tokenized assets have reached a mature stage capable of supporting institutional-grade financial applications, and the industry is moving from the proof-of-concept (PoC) stage to large-scale commercialization. Building underlying infrastructure around tokenized assets that meets institutional needs will become the core direction of the next stage of financial innovation. The white paper further points out that the key to achieving widespread adoption in the tokenization market lies in deploying infrastructure with interoperability, programmability, on-chain compliance capabilities, and institutional-grade standards. Previously, Aptos had deeply integrated with leading financial institutions to build the underlying standards needed to support a trillion-dollar tokenization market. The pilot program supported programmable digital currencies (such as simulated digital Hong Kong dollars and tokenized deposits) through a permissioned network architecture, enabling instant settlement and embedded compliance review of tokenized funds.
