Japan’s Katayama Leaves Open Possibility of GPIF Domestic Shift

Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama reiterated she will pursue measures to encourage the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) to invest more in domestic financial assets, according to Bloomberg. Katayama stressed she has no authority to step into the fund’s investment decisions, leaving the possibility of a shift open.
