According to PANews, the Swiss government has expressed its willingness to continue discussions with the United States after August 7, if necessary, aiming to present more attractive proposals. The government clarified that it is not considering any countermeasures at this time. It emphasized that the trade surplus with the U.S. is not a result of unfair trade practices and reiterated its commitment to diversifying trade relations. Last week, the White House announced a 39% tariff on Swiss goods. Additionally, U.S. President Donald Trump has postponed the implementation of reciprocal tariffs until August 7.
