Trump Administration Officials Hold Significant Cryptocurrency Assets

According to PANews, a report by The Washington Post reveals that U.S. President Donald Trump possesses virtual currency assets totaling $51 million. The investigation into the financial disclosures of approximately 300 senior officials in the Trump administration found that about one in five holds virtual currency. The analysis identified around 70 officials who either own cryptocurrencies or have investments in blockchain-related enterprises. The Washington Post requested financial information from all government nominees approved by the Senate as of the 3rd of the month, receiving responses from 95% of them. The media outlet independently filtered the financial data to identify blockchain or cryptocurrency-related holdings, wallets, or enterprises. Typically, officials disclose asset ranges rather than exact amounts, so estimates were made using the minimum value within those ranges. The investigation estimates that the total virtual currency assets declared by senior Trump administration officials amount to at least $193 million. The highest amount is held by Ken Howery, the U.S. Ambassador to Denmark and PayPal co-founder, with virtual assets worth $120 million. President Trump follows, while the third-highest holder has assets in the million-dollar range. Vice President J.D. Vance reportedly holds $250,000 in virtual assets.
