Microsoft Restricts Employee Use of DeepSeek App Due to Security Concerns

According to PANews, Microsoft President Brad Smith announced during a Senate hearing that the company has prohibited its employees from using the DeepSeek application due to concerns over data security and the risk of propagating harmful content. Microsoft has not listed the app in its store. Although the DeepSeek R1 model was available for download on Azure, it was limited to open-source model deployment rather than an official application. Smith also disclosed that Microsoft had modified the DeepSeek model to eliminate potentially harmful content.
