Plasma builder Googly said a French home-invasion robbery was linked to a tax-filing typo that made the homeowner’s 0.066 BTC appear to be 660 BTC, with the information later leaked. According to ChainCatcher, Googly reposted a report saying masked attackers broke into a home in Juilly, Seine-et-Marne, on February 6, 2026, and assaulted a couple and their 20-year-old daughter. The attackers believed the father held 660 BTC, worth about 40 million euros, and demanded that he open his crypto wallet. The first wallet they checked held only $3,000, while two other accounts contained nearly 7,000 euros combined. Two members of the attack team were sentenced on October 16 to three years and 18 months in prison, respectively. Googly also works in trading and angel investing at APG Capital.
