Sir Jim Ratcliffe Says He Has Lost Confidence in the UK

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the billionaire owner of a large stake in Manchester United and founder of Ineos, said he has lost confidence in the UK and described the economy as "on the slide," according to BBC. He blamed high taxes and high immigration for what he sees as decline, and said failing to invest further in North Sea oil and gas was "insanity". Ratcliffe also warned that low gas storage could leave the UK at risk of running out of gas in a cold snap this winter. The government said it was working to deliver growth, that business investment had risen in the last two years, and that it did not foresee gas supply problems.
