Japan's Finance Minister Expects BOJ to Manage Policy to Meet 2% Inflation Target

Japan's Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said on Thursday that she expects the Bank of Japan to manage monetary policy properly in a stable and sustainable manner to achieve its 2% inflation target. According to Sina Finance, Katayama said she hopes the Bank of Japan will maintain close communication with the government. After the Federal Reserve raised interest rates on Wednesday, the yen weakened against the U.S. dollar, and Katayama declined to comment on exchange-rate moves.
