STOCKS | Larry Ellison Cancels Oracle Stock Sale Plan Worth Up to $7.5 Billion

Oracle said co-founder, Executive Chairman, and Chief Technology Officer Larry Ellison has canceled a trading plan that allowed him to sell up to 50 million Oracle shares. According to Sina Finance, the shares were worth about $7.5 billion based on Oracle's September 11 closing price of about $150 per share, and no shares were sold before the plan was canceled. Oracle said in a statement on September 12 that Ellison had canceled the plan, no Oracle shares were sold during its term, and he currently has no other plan to sell his Oracle holdings. The company did not give a reason for the cancellation. Oracle is expanding its investment in AI infrastructure. The company said first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue rose 30% year over year to $19.3 billion, cloud infrastructure revenue increased 121% to $7.4 billion, and remaining performance obligations rose to $664 billion. Free cash flow was negative $5 billion in the same quarter, mainly due to cloud infrastructure investment, and Oracle also sold $20 billion of common stock through a market offering plan.
