Bridgewater CIO Warns AI May Not Be Regulated Until It Kills Someone

Bridgewater managing chief investment officer Greg Jensen warned that AI may not face meaningful regulation until it kills someone, and said the issue should be addressed well before that point. According to BeInCrypto, Jensen made the remarks on Bloomberg’s Odd Lots podcast and compared the current AI mood to February 2020 before COVID-19 reached the U.S. He cited recent safety incidents involving OpenAI and Anthropic, and said he sees a major AI-driven financial incident or a physical disaster within the next two years without regulation.
