First Digital and ITCEN Sign MOU to Build On-Chain Finance Infrastructure in South Korea

First Digital, the issuer of the FDUSD stablecoin, has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with South Korean listed company ITCEN Group to build on-chain financial infrastructure linking South Korea's RWA market with global liquidity. According to Foresight News, the two sides will connect FDUSD with KGLD, a digital asset backed by physical gold under ITCEN and using the LayerZero OFT standard, to provide overseas investors with compliant access. ITCEN plans to tokenize 50 tons of gold over the next five years. The company said the scale is about 10 trillion won, or $7.2 billion. The two sides will also explore enterprise settlement use cases for FDUSD and promote asset tokenization through the AI payment layer Prism and the Finance District ecosystem. First Digital also plans to establish a South Korean branch in the fourth quarter of 2026 and take part in the country's stablecoin institutionalization process.
