Hong Kong Proposes Broader Tax Breaks For Private Funds, Family Offices

Hong Kong Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui said the government has proposed further improvements to the preferential tax regime for privately offered funds, single-family offices and carried interest, according to Ming Pao. He said that if the proposal is approved by the Legislative Council, the range of investment products eligible under the tax regime would be expanded to include private credit, digital assets and precious metals, in a move aimed at reinforcing Hong Kong's position as a wealth management hub.
