Yasheng Group Flags Abnormal Trading After 20% Two-Day Share Price Surge

Yasheng Group said on September 8 that its stock met the criteria for abnormal trading after the cumulative deviation in its closing price rose 20% over two consecutive trading days on September 7 and September 8. The company said its static price-to-earnings ratio was 180.56, well above the 26.54 static P/E for the agriculture industry in the China Association of Listed Companies' industry classification, and added that its fundamentals had not changed materially, according to Jiemian News. Yasheng Group warned that the recent share price rise had outpaced the Shanghai Composite Index and said there could be irrational speculation and a risk of a sharp pullback after a rapid increase, urging investors to pay attention to secondary-market trading risks and invest prudently.
