OIL | WTI Edges Higher as Iran Claims Strike on Regional U.S. Bases

WTI edged higher after Iran said it carried out its latest strike on U.S. bases. According to Sina Finance, WTI fluctuated between gains and losses before settling near $91 a barrel, while Brent slipped to around $95.50 a barrel after three straight days of gains. According to Sina Finance, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported that Iran's military said on Thursday it had struck U.S. bases in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Kuwait said it responded to missile and drone threats, while the United Arab Emirates had not reported any related incident. Saudi Arabia kept its flagship crude official selling price for next month unchanged, signaling tighter market supply than some investors had expected and sending oil prices lower. The risk of the conflict widening was also rising, with Israel saying it would no longer be bound by current limits if Iran attacked Israel. October WTI rose 0.3% to settle at $91.30 a barrel, while November Brent fell 0.1% to settle at $95.52 a barrel.
