TSMC Distributes NT$36 Billion in Second-Quarter Employee Bonuses

Chipmaker TSMC distributed about NT$36 billion in second-quarter employee bonuses today, more than 50% higher than a year earlier. According to Odaily, half of TSMC's annual employee bonus is paid after each quarter ends, while the other half is paid after the following year's shareholders meeting. TSMC said second-quarter revenue and profit reached record highs, driven by growth in high-performance computing, the Internet of Things, automotive, and consumer electronics platform businesses. Revenue totaled $40.2 billion, net profit attributable to parent company shareholders was NT$706.56 billion, up 77.4% year over year, and earnings per share were NT$27.25.
