Bitcoin Could Break Above $72,000 After Range Trading, Whale Says

Whale trader “Set Ten Big Goals” said on X that he reopened long positions shortly after closing short positions because his medium- and long-term view had not changed. According to Odaily, he said Bitcoin’s key dividing zone in the last bull market was near $60,000, while mainstream mining costs are now concentrated in the $50,000 to $60,000 range. He said Bitcoin briefly fell to $58,000 last month before quickly rebounding, which confirmed support in that area. He added that, absent systemic risk or major changes in fundamentals, the risk-reward profile for continuing to short at current levels is not attractive. After Bitcoin completes consolidation and turnover in the $58,000 to $63,000 range and reclaims the area near $66,000, he said the market will have conditions for further gains, and he did not rule out a strong-volume candle pushing Bitcoin above $72,000. He also said U.S. stocks, especially AI-related sectors, are trading at relatively high valuations and may become more volatile. He added that Bitcoin’s correlation with U.S. stocks has dropped noticeably compared with previous cycles and said continued institutional inflows and the strengthening of Bitcoin’s asset attributes are helping it move in a more independent direction.
